Open Access means that readers have unrestricted, free online access to the electronic edition of a selection of our publications. In the future, adocs publishing will offer OA in this area.

Quality and peer review

For quality purposes, our Open Access publications are subject to a peer review process tailored to the publication project. This process is directly supervised and transparently documents by adocs Publishing.

Evaluation processes in detail:

  • If the publication results from an academic qualification thesis (Master's, Phd, etc.), the respective academic evaluation reviews are used for quality assurance. The respective reviewers, academic scholars, are presented with their professional expertise.

  • If the publication is the result of a research project or a conference, symposium or similar event, adocs Publishing will carry out an editorial review or/and ask experts in the field, external independent peers, for an evaluation. The peers executing the review evaluating the quality, orginality, topicality and academic standards of the publication. The selection of experts and their evaluation are documented transparently.

The peer review process in the context of an open access publication complies with the guidelines and quality standards of OAPEN.

adocs Publishing meets the funding requirements of the European Research Council (ERC), the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF), the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and other scientific funding bodies. adocs Publishing is thus committed to complying with the generally applicable requirements for the dissemination of Open Access content.
