Prof. Gitelson was director and chief scientist of the Institute of Biophysics in Krasnoyarsk, where he also co-conducted closed ecosystem experiments like BIOS-3. 

 

The improvised interview was recorded by Ralo Mayer in October 2015 on the side of at the 66th International Astronautical Congress in Jerusalem, where Prof. Gitelson (and other members of the Institute of Biophysics) had presented their work.
